12 July 2024 Stowmarket to Wimbledon! Stowmarket High School was lucky enough to win a small number of tickets in the Wimbledon ballot. A group of Year 10 PE students were treated to an excellent yet tense day of tennis on Court 2, watching both underdogs winning! Students enjoyed buying souvenirs of their experience and, of course, eating strawberries and cream!

12 July 2024 Science Talk at Northgate At Northgate Primary School, an evening science talk was held for Year 5 and 6 pupils and their parents. It was all about astronomy and hosted by Dr. Matthew Bothwell.

8 July 2024 Introduction to sailing for Snape students! Year 5 and 6 students from Snape Primary School had an introduction to sailing. Thank you to the Aldeburgh Yacht Club for subsidising this event!

25 March 2024 Science Fayre at Snape Students in Eagle Class researched their own investigation in school and at home before presenting them to their families and peers at the fayre. The children were really enthusiastic about their investigations and keen to explain the science behind them!

20 March 2024 Lucie Hernandez confirmed as Head at Stowmarket High Kingfisher Schools Trust are delighted to announce the appointment of Lucie Hernandez as substantive Headteacher at Stowmarket High School, following two successful terms as Interim Head.

13 March 2024 Northgate Artwork Students undertook a school-wide project on designing a bird and, of course, they chose to draw a kingfisher. From Nursery through to Year 6, the work was of an exceptional standard. It was great to have the artwork presented as a gallery in the school hall for all to see.

8 March 2024 World Book Day Our schools celebrated World Book Day with an amazing array of activities. Children from Southtown recreated their own fancy dress onto wooden spoons whilst children attending Snape created matchbox stories. Roman Hill had author visits and invited parents to join them in a number of lovely book-related tasks. In our secondary settings, it was great to see students and staff dressing up, receiving their free books and enjoying the day.

21 December 2023 Trust-wide conference On 6th October, colleagues from all trust schools participated in a joint training day. Staff were given training on Rosenshine’s Principles, had the opportunity to explore barriers to learning and, most importantly, learned more about the trust’s renewed vision and values. The first staff survey was also launched! It was a great day for all involved.

21 December 2023 British Values in action At Kingfisher Schools Trust, we believe all staff, pupils and family members should promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs. Throughout the year, children and young people have taken part in so many different activities promoting citizenship, diversity and inclusion. They have acted as role models to others, spoken to politicians and faith leaders, acted charitably and always with respect. That’s why we are so proud of Kingfisher students.

21 December 2023 Attendance Attendance has significantly improved at Roman Hill due to a range of new strategies implemented last term. Walking buses, attendance monitors, rigorous and relentless data tracking and accountability measures have all helped to make Roman Hill a beacon of great practice.
